About From Me to You
Please sign in to see more. Welcome to OUR Family Tree!
This tree will cover the family of Samuel and Jane Purdy who raised their family in Saint John, New Brunswick in the early 1800's, where many of their descendants still reside. You will also find the Fitzpatrick clan, family of John Fitzpatrick and Mary Ann Butler, of Westmorland County. Check out the Harper's, John and Ann, originally from Donegal, Ireland, who arrived in Saint John in 1825, eventually settling in the Jacksonville area of Carleton County. Loyalist Jabesh Cabel Squiers/Squires, who with his wife Martha Hammond, the first white woman to be born in St. Andrew's, settled in Carleton County, where they raised their family, John Reid and his wife Jean Kerr of Ayrshire, Scotland whose grandsons James and Alexander came to Canada, settling in Nova Scotia. Along the way you will find some Burpees, Hamms, Jewetts, Robsons, Stickneys, Uptons and many more.
I want to thank everyone that has helped in my research. The majority of it I have personally researched, sourced, and confirmed, others are from family trees compiled by other descendants over the last hundred years. The information pertaining to the Squires/Squiers was originally compiled by William Austin Squires, grandson of Jabesh, in 1954. It was revised in 1970, and then again in 1980 by another family member, Living Williamson. I have recently made some updates. The information concerning the Stinchcomb line is not one I have personally verified. It was one given to me by another family member whose site can be viewed here http://www.geocities.com/mountainwaterfalls/vivian_page . Much thanks to Bev for her help with the Robson line, our newly found cousins; Kathy for her help with the Vida Reid line, Linda for her information and photos on the line of James Reid(b.1828), Cal for his information on the line of Emma (Squires) Tompkins, Hal for information on the line of Eva Maud (Fitzpatrick) Embree, Kevin for his information on the line of Jessie E. Squires, Rachel for her information on the Butler line, Heather for information on the line of Ella Thurrott, Russel and Jean for their information on the family of John and Jean (Kerr) Reid, Paul for his help with the descendants of Oliver Salmon, Anne for information on the Odgen line, David for additional information on the Burpees, Stephen for additional information on Hepzibah (Coburn) Coburn and Descendants( http://swoodbridge.com/family/Woodbridge/ ), Theo (http://www.theojanssen.ca/) for information on the descendants of Mariana Hamm, Dave and Bill for their part in the Hamm line, Pat for help with the line of Joseph M. Butler, Sherri for her information on the family of Alice Maude Burpee and Christine for information on the line of Elizabeth Ogilvy. Information on the Purdy line was compiled by me, with the help of a different Purdy Line researcher(Thank you Bob). The Fitzpatrick and Harper Line is one which I have been working on with the help of my great-aunt and her daughter.
As anyone into genealogy knows, this is a never-ending process so if you have any information you want to share, any questions about the information this tree contains or my sources, notice errors in my research or ommissions of people, or inadvertent inclusions of living descendants, feel free to drop me a line and I will do my best to reply to you with answers, or corrections.
Feel free to sign the guestbook and let me know what you think.
